Cambridge مثال My phone's battery is about to die رو برای تموم‌شدن power میاره و dead battery رو هم برای باتری بدون power به‌کار می‌بره.
یه نکته درباره‌ی out of battery / out of power: ممکنه I’m out of battery رو در بعضی گفت‌وگوهای informal بشنوی یا ببینی، ولی برای learner model واضح‌تره مستقیم بگی My phone is dead یا My battery is dead. I’m out of power هم broader و کمتر phone-specificـه؛ برای clarity، phone/battery رو صریح بگو.
is dead با died چه فرقی داره؟
My phone is dead. وضعیت الان رو می‌گه.
My battery died. اتفاقی که افتاد رو می‌گه.
My phone died. توی conversation خیلی وقت‌ها یعنی باتری تموم شد، ولی context می‌تونه معنی «گوشی از کار افتاد/خراب شد» هم بده؛ پس absolute معنی نکن.

about to die urgency رو روشن می‌کنه و جمله‌ی دوم next action رو می‌گه.
text یا call وقتی باتری خیلی کمه.
«گوشیم داره خاموش می‌شه. وقتی تونستم شارژش کنم بهت پیام می‌دم.»
next action رو با situation واقعی خودت عوض کن.
You: My battery is really low.
Friend: Do you need to go?
You: Yeah, my phone’s about to die. I’ll message you later.

died این‌جا event رو توضیح می‌ده: باتری تموم شد.
بعد از تماس قطع‌شده.
«ببخشید تماس قطع شد؛ باتریم تموم شد.»
battery died رو با phone died مقایسه کن و ببین کدوم context واضح‌تره.
Friend: What happened?
You: Sorry, my phone died during the call.
Friend: Battery?
You: Yeah, the battery was completely dead.

My connection keeps dropping. = connection مدام قطع و وصل می‌شه.
Speak Languages phraseهایی مثل my battery's about to run out، I need to charge up my phone و I can't get a signal رو در phone language پوشش می‌ده.

Classification: unusual/non-idiomatic برای everyday meaning.
