فانفلوئنچرا information و advice جمع بسته نمی‌شن؟
چرا information و advice جمع بسته نمی‌شن؟ فرق nounهای countable و uncountable را با مثال، اصلاح informations/advices و تمرین کوتاه یاد بگیر.
در English معمولی، information و advice uncountable هستن؛ پس نگو informations، advices یا an advice. بگو some information، some advice یا وقتی باید تعداد رو مشخص کنی a piece / pieces of information و a piece / pieces of advice.
دو تا اطلاعات داری؟ نگو two informations. بگو two pieces of information. خود noun رو نشمار؛ piece رو بشمار.
information چرا informations نمی‌شه؟
Cambridge در English Grammar Today، information رو در ordinary use یک uncountable noun می‌دونه. یعنی معمولاً خود کلمه رو با -s جمع نمی‌بندی.
Original practice example
I need some information. / I need two pieces of information.
وقتی فقط مقدار مهمه، some information بگو. وقتی دقیقاً چند مورد اطلاعات رو می‌شماری، عدد روی piece(s) می‌ره، نه روی information.
از همکار، دانشگاه، بانک یا پشتیبانی چند detail مشخص می‌خوای.
معنی: «یه مقدار اطلاعات لازم دارم / دو مورد اطلاعات لازم دارم.»
بلند بگو: some information → a piece of information → three pieces of information.
I need more informations.
طبقه‌بندی: برای ordinary standard English غلط/غیرطبیعی.
شنونده چه می‌فهمد؟ منظور قابل‌فهمه، ولی plural form طبیعی نیست.
منظورت: «اطلاعات بیشتری لازم دارم.»
طبیعی‌تر: I need more information.
معنی ممکنه چند detail داشته باشه، ولی grammar لازم نیست خود noun رو plural کنه.
advice هم همین رفتار رو داره
Cambridge برای advice هم همین countability boundary رو می‌ده: در ordinary use uncountable است. پس an advice و advices رو برای این معنی استفاده نکن.

She gave me some advice. / She gave me two pieces of advice.
Advice خودش plural نمی‌شه؛ اگر تعداد recommendationها مهمه، piece(s) رو count کن.
یک دوست، استاد یا همکار چند recommendation بهت می‌ده.
معنی: «یه مقدار توصیه بهم داد / دو تا توصیه بهم داد.»
بلند بگو: some advice → a piece of advice → three pieces of advice.
She gave me an advice.
طبقه‌بندی: برای ordinary standard English غلط.
منظورت: «یه توصیه بهم کرد.»
طبیعی‌تر: She gave me some advice. یا She gave me a piece of advice.
She gave me three advices.
طبقه‌بندی: برای ordinary learner English غلط/غیرطبیعی.
طبیعی‌تر: She gave me three pieces of advice.
فرقِ «مقدار» با «تعداد مورد» رو ببین
این distinction کمک می‌کنه لازم نباشه هر بار rule رو از اول یادآوری کنی.
Original practice example
We need more information. / I have three pieces of information.
اگر فقط amount مهمه، خود mass noun رو نگه دار. اگر number مهمه، unit-word مثل piece رو count کن.
در جلسه می‌گی اطلاعات بیشتری لازم داریم، یا سه نکته‌ی مشخص برای گزارش داری.
معنی: «اطلاعات بیشتری لازم داریم / سه مورد اطلاعات دارم.»
خودت contrast بساز: more advice / two pieces of advice.
- some information — یک مقدار اطلاعات
- more information — اطلاعات بیشتر
- a piece of information — یک مورد اطلاعات
- several pieces of information — چند مورد اطلاعات
خود noun رو نشمار؛ unit رو بشمار. همین frame برای advice هم کار می‌کنه.
advice با advise یکی نیست
یه trap اضافه هم هست: advice nounه، ولی advise verbه.

Advice چیزیه که می‌گیری؛ advise کاریه که کسی انجام می‌ده.
از استاد، مدیر یا دوست recommendation می‌خوای.
معنی: «می‌تونی بهم یه کم راهنمایی بدی؟ / می‌تونی راهنماییم کنی؟»
یک pair بساز: I need advice. / Please advise me.
کلینیک اشتباه: قبل از باز کردن جواب، خودت repair کن

قبل از باز کردن جواب، مشخص کن «تعداد دقیق» مهمه یا فقط «مقدار».

تمرین گفتاری: frame رو بلند بگو
این sequence رو با صدای بلند بگو:
I need some information.

بعد self-repair:
I need two informations—sorry, two pieces of information.
قرار نیست همیشه از اول جمله restart کنی. repair کوتاه، frame درست رو هم تمرین می‌ده.
یه قانون مهم‌تر: countability رو همیشه از معنی حدس نزن
Cambridge و British Council هر دو countable/uncountable رو به‌عنوان property واژه و usage توضیح می‌دن. یعنی اینکه «از نظر معنا چندتاست» کافی نیست تا خود noun حتماً plural بگیره.
وقتی به noun جدیدی شک داری، dictionary label رو چک کن. بعضی nounها uncountableاند؛ بعضی countable؛ بعضی هم بسته به meaning هر دو رفتار رو دارن. این صفحه فقط روی دو مورد خیلی مشخص تمرکز داره: information و advice.

اگر توی ذهنت «چند تا اطلاعات / چند تا توصیه» اومد، قبل از اینکه -s بچسبونی، این pair رو بیار:
a piece of information → pieces of information
a piece of advice → pieces of advice
خود information و advice همون mass-word می‌مونن. حالا دو جمله‌ی واقعی از زندگی خودت بساز: یکی با some و یکی با pieces of.
