Shadowing tiếng Anh ở khách sạn: làm thủ tục và nói điều bạn cần

Shadowing tiếng Anh ở khách sạn qua front-desk flow: check in, confirm thông tin, xin điều bạn cần, báo vấn đề rõ ràng và hỏi bước tiếp theo.

Câu trả lời ngắn

Shadow một check-in exchange ngắn, rồi luyện ngay các next turns thật sự cần ở khách sạn: confirm một fact, ask một need, report một problem và hỏi what happens next.

Bạn shadow I have a reservation under Nguyen. rất mượt. Lễ tân tìm thấy booking. Great. Giờ bạn cần thêm khăn.

Script: “…”

CHECK IN → CONFIRM → ASK → REPORT → NEXT STEP

Hi, I have a reservation under Nguyen.

Is breakfast included?

Could I get an extra towel, please?

Original practice example

Hi, I have a reservation under Nguyen.

under Nguyen identifies the booking name cleanly. Câu ngắn là đủ để mở check-in interaction.

Hotel arrival and front-desk check-in.

Nghĩa: Chào bạn, tôi có đặt phòng dưới tên Nguyen.

Đổi surname và shadow cả một front-desk response ngắn do bạn tự viết.

British Council Vietnam treats shadowing as model-based listening/repetition.

Đừng biến check-in thành phỏng vấn 14 câu nếu bạn chỉ cần biết breakfast. Confirm một fact, nghe answer, rồi đi tiếp.

Original practice example

Is breakfast included?

Đây là yes/no question xác nhận một booking fact. Nó không assume breakfast included hay không.

Check-in or front desk.

British Council’s hotel-booking material uses polite confirmation/request language such as I would like… and asking the hotel to confirm details. Xem British Council hotel-booking material.

Xem Cambridge — Requests.

Original practice example

Could I get an extra towel, please?

Requesting a room item from the front desk or housekeeping.

Xem Cambridge.

Nếu muốn late checkout, đừng assume availability:

Would late checkout be possible?

Doesn’t seem to be working nói đúng mức information bạn có.

Original practice example

The air conditioning doesn’t seem to be working. Could someone take a look?

Sentence đầu report observation conservatively; sentence sau asks for help.

Reporting a room equipment problem.

Cambridge politeness guidance includes the request shape Could you take a look at…?, useful here when asking someone to inspect a problem. Xem Cambridge — Politeness.

NEXT STEP: sau khi staff hiểu problem, hỏi what happens next

Hotel response có thể khác nhau. Vì vậy đừng luyện một promise thay staff. Luyện cách hỏi:

Could you let me know what happens next?

Nếu staff đã nói một next step, repeat-back phần quan trọng:

So someone will come up to take a look, right?

Chỉ repeat đúng điều bạn vừa nghe; đừng invent thời gian, refund, room change hay result chưa được nói.

Front Desk Lab: bạn đang cần next turn nào?

Chọn trước khi mở reveal: CHECK-IN, CONFIRM, ASK, REPORT hay FOLLOW-UP.

Context: bạn vừa tới và booking ở tên Tran.

Xem next turn

CHECK-IN. Hi, I have a reservation under Tran.

Xem next turn

CONFIRM. Is breakfast included?

Context: bạn cần thêm một towel.

Xem next turn

ASK. Could I get an extra towel, please?

Context: AC panel is on, nhưng room không cool; bạn không biết cause.

Xem next turn

REPORT. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to be working. Could someone take a look?

Xem next turn

FOLLOW-UP. Could you let me know what happens next?

Xem next turn

ASK/CONFIRM AVAILABILITY. Would late checkout be possible?

Bốn câu dễ làm hotel request nghe lệch

Câu gốcPhân loạiNgười nghe hiểu gìÝ địnhCách tự nhiên hơnGhi chú
I have a reservation on my name.Understandable but unusual/non-idiomatic for intended booking phraseBooking is associated with your name.Identify reservation.I have a reservation under my name. / I have a reservation under Nguyen.Other booking phrasings exist; under + name is a useful common frame.
Give me one more towel.Grammatically valid but very direct for an ordinary hotel requestYou are demanding another towel.Ask politely for an extra towel.Could I get an extra towel, please?Direct wording can fit urgent/forceful contexts, but it is not the default target here.
The air conditioning is destroyed.Grammatically possible but meaning much stronger/different than likely observationThe AC is physically ruined/destroyed.Say it seems not to work. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to be working. If you genuinely know it is physically destroyed, the original has a different valid meaning.
Can I late checkout?Wrong structureLate-checkout request is recoverable.Ask whether late checkout is available.Would late checkout be possible? / Could I check out late?Availability/policy varies; request rather than assume.

Bài thử: shadow → hide → role switch

  1. Shadow một two-turn check-in exchange.
  2. Giấu model.
  3. Play guest: check in + ask one need.
  4. Play front desk: give a short plausible response without inventing hotel policy.
  5. Introduce one room problem.
  6. Play guest again: report observation + ask what happens next.

Success = conversation vẫn chạy sau khi câu I have a reservation…
