Last Saturday I woke up at seven, checked my phone, made coffee, changed my shirt…
I woke up, checked my phone, made coffee, took a shower, changed my shirt, looked for my keys…
Original practice example
Last Friday, I was on my way to a job interview.
Frame 太多:
It was Friday, and I had a blue shirt on, and I had coffee at home, and the weather was cloudy, and I left around eight…
Frame
Last Friday, I was on my way to a job interview.
Trouble:
Original practice example
Halfway there, the train stopped in a tunnel.
Everything was normal until my five-year-old stood up and started singing in the middle of dinner.
Turn:
Original practice example
A stranger told me about a bus I could catch from the next station.
Landing:别让故事死在 “and then I went home”
Original practice example
I arrived ten minutes late, but they still interviewed me — and I got the job.
BBC Learning English 的 Our Stories 也示范了 narrator 的 thought / feeling 怎样给 story 增加 perspective。
I was exhausted, but I couldn’t stop laughing.
Cut Test:
CUT。
KEEP — Frame。
KEEP — Trouble。
KEEP — Turn。
KEEP — Landing。
|---|---|---|
| 主要发生了什么 | past simple | The train stopped. |
| 当时背景正在进行 | past continuous | I was heading to an interview. |
| 更早已经发生的事,而且顺序真的需要澄清 | past perfect | I’d already missed one train that morning. |
I was at the airport for an early flight.
看答案
FRAME。 它说明 location + goal。
Then I realised my wallet wasn’t in my bag.
看答案
TROUBLE。
A café worker had found it and handed it to airport security.
看答案
TURN。
I got it back just before boarding, and I’ve never checked a bag so many times since.
看答案
LANDING。 outcome + reaction。
Frame: I took a friend to a restaurant I’d been recommending for months.
Trouble: I confidently ordered for both of us — and chose the wrong dish.
Turn: The waiter started laughing and brought us the dish I’d actually meant.
Landing: My friend still reminds me about my “expert recommendation”.
Frame: I was giving a product demo to a new client.
Trouble: The app froze on the first screen.
Turn: Instead of pretending, I showed them the backup recording and explained the bug.
Landing: They appreciated the honesty, and the meeting actually went well.
- Frame:一句。
- Trouble:一句。
- Turn:一句。
- Landing:
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| This story happened me last week. | This happened to me last week. | happen 接 person 时用 to。 |
| I was in the way to an interview. | I was on my way to an interview. | on my way to 是常用搭配;in the way 意思不同,常表示“挡路”。 |
| Finally, a stranger told me about another bus. | Then a stranger told me about another bus. |
| At the end, I got the job. | In the end, I got the job. | in the end 常表示 eventual outcome;at the end 常与某个具体 event、period 或 object 的末尾相关。 |
