Một status update tốt không cần kể cả tuần theo chronological order. Nó chỉ cần giúp room hiểu current state.
Original practice example
Quick update: the draft is ready, but we’re still waiting for legal review.
Một completed item + một current blocker. Câu này không giả vờ blocker đã resolved.
Project or status meeting.
Nghĩa: Cập nhật nhanh: bản nháp đã xong, nhưng chúng ta vẫn đang chờ legal review.
Đổi draft/legal review bằng một done item và một pending item thật hoặc fictional.
PROPOSAL OR DECISION? Một vài từ khác nhau có thể đổi cả mức commitment
British Council’s B1 meeting lesson Making a decision shows colleagues moving from opinions and process discussion to explicit language such as I guess that’s decided then and OK, so it’s decided then.
- We could launch on Thursday. → proposal.
- We should launch on Thursday. → recommendation/proposal unless context makes a decision explicit.
- We’ve decided to launch on Thursday. → decision claim.
Sounds good can show positive reaction. It does not, by itself, guarantee that the room has formally committed to the proposal.

Câu này không oppose proposal. Nó chỉ hỏi meeting state: đã chốt hay vẫn đang bàn?
When a discussion sounds positive but commitment is unclear.
Nghĩa: Vậy là mình đang chốt launch vào thứ Năm, hay đây vẫn mới là đề xuất?
Thay launch date bằng một decision khác trong fictional meeting.
DECISION: restate đúng thứ đã được chốt — kể cả condition

Restatement giữ luôn condition after legal approval. Nếu condition bị bỏ, decision có thể bị làm mạnh hơn so với thứ room thật sự agreed.
Confirming a group decision.
Nghĩa: Vậy là đã chốt: chúng ta sẽ launch vào thứ Năm sau khi có legal approval.
Tạo một decision có một condition thật hoặc fictional.
British Council’s decision dialogue also shows that one person can disagree with the final choice while still recognising what the group decided. Personal agreement và group decision không phải cùng một field.
ACTION POINT: decision chưa tự sinh ra người làm
Cambridge defines an action point (US also action item) as a job for a particular person or group to do following a meeting or report. Xem Cambridge Dictionary.

Speaker tự nhận một action và timing. Không dùng sentence này để assign Wednesday cho người khác nếu họ chưa agreed.
Owning a next step in a meeting.
Nghĩa: Tôi có thể cập nhật deck trước thứ Tư.
Đổi action/timing thành một task thật hoặc fictional mà speaker tự nhận.
READ BACK: chốt một version chung trước khi meeting tan
British Council’s Managing meetings guidance recommends clarification, summarising, checking agreement, ensuring decisions are made and recording action points — including tasks and who will do them.

Just to confirm: I’ll update the deck by Wednesday, and Maya will send the client notes.
Read-back repeats owner + action. Include timing only when timing was actually agreed.
