怎样用英语表达只听懂一部分或不确定？
英语只听懂一部分时，不必直接说“I don’t understand”。用 Known → Missing → Candidate → Check，说清已懂内容、缺口和不确定理解，再精准确认。
只听懂一部分时，不要把已经听懂的内容一起丢掉；先说你确定抓住了什么，再指出缺口，必要时给出一个 tentative interpretation，最后请对方确认。
You need to update the first section and send it by Friday… 你听懂 update、first section、send，唯独 deadline 那一块糊掉了。说 I don’t understand 太大，直接点头又太冒险。你缺的是一块，不是整张拼图。
部分听懂，不等于“没听懂”
British Council 建议学习者在理解不完整时主动检查理解，而不是为了怕打断对话就保持沉默。Council of Europe 的 CEFR Asking for clarification 也把“指出 comprehension problem”和“用 follow-up question 检查理解”当作正常互动能力。
所以 I don’t understand 当然没错，但如果你其实已经懂了一大块，它就太宽了。更有用的是告诉对方：哪一块已经拼好，哪一块还是空的。
Known：先说你确定抓住了什么
CEFR 的 B1 spoken interaction 描述甚至直接包括“重复对方说过的一部分来确认共同理解”。这正好适合 partial understanding。

先报出你已经确定的内容，能保留 conversation context，也能让对方知道不必从第一句重新解释。
工作指示、课堂说明、旅行安排。
意思：关于更新第一部分的内容，我听懂了。
练习：把句尾换成一个你真实听懂的部分。
Missing：把缺口说窄
下一步不是再说一次 I don’t understand，而是指出你缺的具体 piece。
Original practice example
I got the main idea, but I missed what you said about the deadline.
这句同时保留 Known 和 Missing。对方知道你不是整段都没懂，只需要补 deadline 那一块。
长说明、会议、电话。
意思：大意我懂了，但你关于截止日期说的那部分我没听清。
练习：把 the deadline 换成 the platform number、the price 或 the last condition。
Candidate：有一个猜测时，把它标成“暂时版本”
Cambridge 关于 interaction 的研究会区分 clarification request 和 confirmation check。后者的核心是：你已经有一个 candidate understanding，只需要知道它对不对。
Original practice example
I think you said Friday, but I’m not completely sure.
I think 加上 I’m not completely sure，把 Friday 明确标成 tentative interpretation，而不是已经确认的事实。
日期、数字、时间、姓名等细节。
意思：我觉得你说的是周五，但我不是完全确定。
练习：用一个你容易听混的数字或日期替换 Friday。
Check：把候选理解交给对方确认

If I understood correctly, you want me to send the draft today. Did I get that right?
If I understood correctly 给对方留下纠正空间；Did I get that right? 直接邀请确认或修正。
任务、安排、付款、旅行和预约。
意思：如果我理解得没错，你是想让我今天把草稿发出去，对吗？
练习：把一句工作或生活指示改成 If I understood correctly…。
重要细节：不确定，就不要装确定
日期、金额、地址、时间、药物说明、法律/安全相关信息等会影响行动的内容，一旦不确定，就应该明确标记 uncertainty 并核对。不要因为“我大概懂了”就先答应。

Register note: 日常里 I got most of that, but… 很自然；正式一点可以用 If I understood correctly… 或 I want to make sure I’ve understood this correctly.
你缺的是一块，不是整张拼图
下次只听懂一部分，不要急着把自己归到“完全没懂”。先保留 Known，再指出 Missing；如果脑中已经有一个 Candidate，就把 uncertainty 说出来，然后 Check。
精确表达“不确定”，不是弱，而是把沟通变得可修。
